What to Do
We want to help you experience Charleston like true locals do, so we're sharing a list of some of our favorite places to dine, shop and sightsee while you're here.
Where to Eat
It's hard to go wrong with food in Charleston, but here are a few of our favorites, many within walking distance of 60 Hanover:
167 Raw Oyster Bar (we recommend grabbing a drink at their sister restaurant around the corner, Bar 167, while you wait), Delaney Oyster House, and The Darling Oyster Bar for seafood
Indaco, Melfi's, Sorelle, and Renzo (we're not just partial because we're friends with the chef) for Italian
Halls Chophouse for a classic Charleston steakhouse experience
Xiao Bao Biscuit and Pink Bellies for Asian Fusion
The Dewberry Rooftop for gorgeous views and drinks
A more complete list is provided below
Where to Shop
There is no shortage of shopping in Charleston, but what we love most are the unique boutiques you can't find anywhere else. Some of our favorites include:
Harvest Moon Home (the owner is a CofC alum and so sweet!)
Something About Me
Two Cumberland
V2V
House of Sage
Ensemble
Beaches!
Charleston is conveniently located to three of the most beautiful beaches on the East Coast. All are about a twenty minute drive (no traffic of course). Here are our favorites:
Sullivan's Island (pristine beaches, with some quaint restaurants close by)
Folly Beach (a little more rowdy and salt of the earth - you will be sure to see some surfer's shredding a wave or two)
Island of Palm (a bit more traditional beach downtown for those who like that!)
Where to Walk
(or drive, or bike, or cart)
Charleston is incredibly walkable, and some must see sights include:
Waterfront Park (also known as White Point Gardens)
The Pineapple Fountain
Explore the beautful historic houses along the Battery
Rainbow Row
College of Charleston Campus
